After its initial US release, Sony's follow-up to the PlayStation 5 is finally coming to India. The tech giant has announced an April 5th launch date for the PS5 Slim, offering Indian gamers a more compact and updated version of the popular console.
The PS5 Slim brings several key changes to the table. Here's a deeper look at what sets it apart:
Size and Weight Reduction: As the name suggests, the PS5 Slim boasts a 30% size reduction and is 25% lighter than the original PS5. This makes it a more appealing option for gamers with limited space or those who prioritize portability.
Storage: The console offers 1TB of built-in storage, expandable through the use of compatible external SSDs. This allows players to store an extensive library of games and media.
Design Updates: The PS5 Slim features subtle, yet noticeable design changes. These include four cover panels (two per side) with integrated slits that improve airflow and add visual interest. Additionally, the top portion of the console now has a glossy finish, contrasting with the matte bottom section.
Removable Disc Drive: One of the most significant changes with the PS5 Slim is the removable disc drive, housed within a side bulge. This modular design allows for potential upgrades and replacements. For those who solely rely on digital downloads, a discless PS5 Digital Edition is also available at a lower price point.
