In a Boston Dynamic's video demonstration Humanoid Atlas robot is seen demonstrating somersault stunts while carrying heavy material with ease.
The humanoid is being trained to think about the properties of objects so that it can have a control system when it is interacting with these objects.
The video was aimed to demonstrate object manipulation, which includes lifting a piece of wood, placing it down, lifting the tool bag, and jumping while performing what looks like a somersault.
The perception system works with the camera in the head of the robot, which includes a color camera and a depth perception camera.
