TraceX Labs has launched GEOX AI, an AI-powered visual geolocation platform designed to identify the real-world location of images and videos using visible clues instead of GPS or EXIF metadata.
According to TraceX Labs, the platform analyses elements such as architecture, road layouts, vegetation, terrain, signage, lighting and other environmental details to estimate where visual content was captured.
GEOX AI offers Fast and Advanced analysis modes, with results displayed through interactive satellite maps. The platform also provides confidence scores, possible location matches and exportable intelligence reports.
The technology has been highlighted for potential applications in OSINT, digital forensics, law enforcement investigations, journalism, threat intelligence and disaster response.
The platform has also attracted attention for its potential use in defence and intelligence scenarios. At the same time, its capabilities highlight privacy concerns, as images may reveal sensitive location information through visible environmental clues even when metadata has been removed.
