Samsung has officially launched the fourth edition of its flagship ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ programme in India, aiming to spark innovation among young students by encouraging them to solve real-world problems using technology. This year, the competition promises to be more expansive, offering ₹1 crore in funding to the top four winning teams along with deep mentorship, prototyping support, and investor connections.
Open to students aged 14–22 across the country, the initiative invites both individuals and groups to participate, with a special focus on projects that can be turned into scalable, real-world solutions.
Solve for Tomorrow 2025 will run for six months and is open to applicants across four broad themes: ‘AI for a Safer, Smarter, and Inclusive Bharat’, ‘Future of Health, Hygiene and Well-being’, ‘Social Change through Sports and Tech for Education’, and ‘Environmental Sustainability through Technology’.
Samsung will run design-thinking workshops in schools and colleges across India to help students identify real-world problems and learn the basics of tech-based solutioning. Applications are open from April 29 to June 30, and submissions will be accepted online.
The top 100 teams will be shortlisted after the first round. These teams will receive online mentorship and training from domain experts before going through a series of video pitches and prototype evaluations.
The top 40 teams will be awarded ₹8 lakh each along with the latest Samsung laptops. From these, 20 semi-finalist teams will get ₹20 lakh each, Samsung Z Flip smartphones, and access to residential bootcamps, lab visits, and intensive one-on-one mentorship sessions from Samsung and IIT Delhi faculty.
The grand finale will see five teams from each theme competing for the final prize. The top four winning teams will receive incubation support worth ₹1 crore at IIT Delhi, giving them the resources and mentorship needed to turn their ideas into impactful ventures.
Special awards like the Goodwill Award, Young Innovator Award, and Social Media Champion will also be presented, with additional prizes worth ₹4.5 lakh.
Backed by IIT Delhi and supported by several government departments and the United Nations, Solve for Tomorrow is not just about building prototypes — it’s about building the future. By providing a national platform for young minds, Samsung is not just encouraging innovation — it’s helping seed the next generation of problem solvers who can shape a smarter, more inclusive India.
