One of the largest torrent sites, RARBG, has suddenly shut down due to the pandemic and its related hardships.
The administrators claim that the expenses of running the site was too much for staff to bear out of their own pockets.
RARBG provided other piracy sites with high-quality content and received more than 40 million visitors in April 2023.
The closure of the site comes at a time when piracy is increasing, and streaming services are implementing pricing increases, crackdowns on login sharing, and sudden show cancellations.
