POCO has launched the X8 and X8 Power in India, expanding its X-series lineup with two smartphones that put a particularly strong emphasis on battery life and performance.
The POCO X8 starts at ₹29,999, while the more powerful X8 Power is priced at ₹35,999. Launch offers can effectively bring those prices down to ₹26,999 and ₹32,999, respectively.
Both phones feature large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays, silicon-carbon batteries and extensive protection against dust and water. However, the X8 Power gets the more powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, faster memory and storage, a 10,000mAh battery and 100W charging.
The POCO X8 and X8 Power will go on sale in India exclusively through Flipkart from September 11 at 12 noon.
Both phones feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1280 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 12-bit colour depth and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The panels also support the DCI-P3 colour gamut and TÜV-certified eye protection.
The X8 Power additionally supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Both phones get stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.
Under the hood, the POCO X8 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, a 4nm chipset with clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz. It is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The X8 Power steps up to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, making its India debut with the device. The chip can reach speeds of up to 2.6GHz and is paired with up to 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage.
The POCO X8 gets a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera with OIS alongside a 2MP depth sensor. At the front is a 16MP selfie camera.
The X8 Power offers a more versatile setup with a 50MP f/1.5 OIS primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide. It also gets a 32MP front camera, with both the front and rear cameras capable of recording 4K video at 30fps.
Battery capacity is one of the biggest talking points. The X8 packs a massive 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. The X8 Power goes even further with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 100W charging and 27W reverse charging. POCO includes the respective 67W and 100W chargers in the box.
Both devices use Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water.
The POCO X8 carries an SRP of ₹29,999, while the X8 Power is priced at ₹35,999.
POCO is offering a ₹2,000 coupon discount along with a ₹1,000 bank offer or exchange bonus at launch. With all applicable offers, the X8 can effectively be purchased for ₹26,999, while the X8 Power comes down to ₹32,999.
Both phones run Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. POCO has promised four years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches.
Sales begin exclusively on Flipkart at 12 noon on September 11. Buyers can also opt for 12-month no-cost EMI, starting at ₹2,250 per month for the X8 and ₹2,750 per month for the X8 Power.
