Sony’s new PlayStation Stars loyalty program has been announced with the aim of providing gamers with loyalty points and certain benefits. It will be available later this year and will be free to join for all PlayStation players.

Sony stated that once players join this loyalty program, they will earn reward points by participating in a range of campaigns and activities.

When loyalty points become accessible, gamers will be able to redeem them in a catalogue that may contain PSN wallet dollars and certain PlayStation Store merchandise.

Furthermore, PlayStation Plus members who are also members of Sony's PlayStation Stars loyalty program will automatically earn points for purchases made on the PlayStation Store.

In addition, PlayStation Stars will include a new form of reward known as "digital collectibles." They are digital representations of items that PlayStation fans appreciate, such as figurines of popular and iconic characters from games and other kinds of entertainment, and valued technologies that draw on Sony's history.
