Following the recent software update for Samsung Galaxy devices, a notable number of users have reported a persistent green line appearing on their phone displays, reminiscent of a broken panel.

The issue seems to have emerged after the implementation of the April 2024 security patch, which was layered on top of Android 14.

Affected models

As per reports, notable models affected by this problem include Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy A73, and Galaxy M21.

Reason still unclear

The cause of the green line is currently undetermined, which has raised apprehensions regarding potential display malfunctions.

Although the anomaly doesn't seem to hinder the normal functionality of the devices, the presence of this vivid green line is disconcerting and could potentially lead to a need for display replacements.

This creates potential inconvenience and frustration for the users.

Samsung's response

As of now, Samsung has not released an official statement regarding this issue.

It is worth noting that similar instances of green line occurrences have been reported in the past following software updates, suggesting that this is not an entirely new phenomenon.
