Reliance Jio, one of India's leading telecom operators, has announced the availability of its JioPhone Prima 4G feature phone in the Indian market.

JioPhone Prima 4G Price in India

Priced at a budget-friendly ₹2,599, the JioPhone Prima aims to attract 2G users, particularly in rural areas, to make the leap to 4G connectivity.

Feature-packed and Powered by KaiOS

The JioPhone Prima offers a range of features powered by the popular KaiOS operating system. This affordable 4G feature phone supports essential applications like YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and even Google Assistant.

With these apps readily available, users can enjoy social media, messaging, and voice assistance on their budget-friendly device.

Seamless Connectivity and Multilingual Support

Equipped with a 1800mAh battery, the JioPhone Prima ensures extended battery life for uninterrupted usage. Additionally, the device supports 23 languages, catering to the diverse linguistic preferences of Indian users.

Enhanced Functionality

The JioPhone Prima comes with built-in cameras for both video calling and photography purposes, offering an all-in-one solution for communication and capturing memories.

Moreover, it comes preloaded with a suite of Jio applications including JioTV, JioCinema, JioSaavn, and JioPay, providing users with a wide range of entertainment and payment options.

Targeting 2G Users in Rural Areas

Reliance Industries, the parent company of Jio, initially launched the JioBharat phone at a price of ₹999, strategically targeting the vast population of 2G users in the country.

The JioPhone Prima is a successor to this initiative, aiming to further expand its user base by providing an affordable and feature-rich 4G option to customers, especially in rural areas.

Impressive Growth in 4G Feature Phone Market

According to a recent report by CyberMedia Research (CMR), the 4G feature phone market in India witnessed exceptional growth of over 300% year-over-year in Q3 2023.

However, the overall feature phone market experienced a decline of 6% year-over-year, with 2G feature phone shipments falling by 27% during the same period.
