The mixed reality headset Microsoft HoloLens 2 has been launched in India. First introduced at the Mobile World Congress in 2019, the headset is focused on enterprise applications, from construction sites and factory floors to operating rooms, hospitals, and classrooms. The device is the successor to the original Microsoft HoloLens, which was launched back in 2016 but was never available in India.
The Microsoft HoloLens 2 is available in India for commercial applications through the licensed resellers Softline and Team Computer. The exact price of the headset in India is not yet known. The HoloLens 2 was launched in the US for $3,500, or around ₹2,60,000. The Microsoft HoloLens 2 is focused on enterprise solutions, and is thus not really available for individual customers to purchase.

The Microsoft HoloLens 2 features see-through holographic lenses which are powered by 2K 3:2 light engines, which allow a 3D viewing experience. It sports four visible light camera sensors and two Infrared (IR) camera sensors to enable head and eye tracking. The HoloLens 2 also includes a 1MP time-of-flight sensor for enhancing the AR, and an 8MP RGB camera sensor for video calling purposes.
For audio, the Microsoft HoloLens 2 has a five-microphone input array, and a built-in speaker system that delivers a spatial sound experience.
Under the hood, the device runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 Compute platform, and gets 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, and a Type-C USB port. The headset runs on a custom version of Windows called Windows Holographic, which has support for Microsoft Edge, Dynamics 365 Remote Assist, Dynamics 365 Guides, and a 3D Viewer.
