HMD Global, the company behind Nokia smartphones, is gearing up to expand its self-branded lineup with several new models later this year. Leaks and reports originating from X user HMD_MEME'S (@smashx_60) have revealed details about two upcoming devices, the HMD Skyline and HMD Atlas, each targeting different market segments.
The HMD Skyline has caught attention with its leaked design, reminiscent of the iconic Nokia Lumia 920. Sporting a boxy design with thick bezels and sharp edges, it offers a distinct aesthetic. The phone is rumoured to come in a vibrant yellow colour option and features a centred hole-punch display with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Expected to launch in July with a price tag of EUR 520 (roughly Rs. 46,800) for the 8GB+ 256GB variant, the HMD Skyline is poised to deliver a modern experience. It is said to feature a full-HD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.
A substantial 4,900mAh battery with 33W fast charging and an IP67 rating for dust and splash resistance further enhance its appeal. In terms of optics, a 108-megapixel main rear camera, along with an ultra-wide lens and a macro or depth sensor, is expected.
The HMD Atlas is positioned as a more budget-friendly option, potentially priced at $239.99 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. It is tipped to feature a 6.64-inch 120Hz full-HD+ display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. A sizable 5,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support rounds off its core specifications.
On the camera front, the HMD Atlas is rumoured to include a 48-megapixel primary rear sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a depth sensor. The front camera, housed in a centered hole-punch, is said to be a 16-megapixel sensor. Leaked images showcase the phone in an Olive Green shade. Additional features like 5G, NFC, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone port are also expected.
