Google Pixel Fold: Users report screen damage, cracks, and unresponsive touchscreens

Google's new foldable phone, the Pixel Fold, is already facing issues with its screen. Users have reported screen damage, dents, cracks, and unresponsive touchscreens. 

One user experienced a complete screen malfunction just four days after purchase, while another noticed a pink line spreading the screen. It remains uncertain if the problems are limited to specific units.

Google Pixel Fold specifications

The Pixel Fold’s external screen is a 5.8-inch OLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It has a 17.4:9 aspect ratio, a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of up to 1,550 nits. 

The inner screen is a larger 7.6-inch OLED display with a 6:5 aspect ratio, 2208x1840 resolution, and the same 120 Hz refresh rate. It also features Ultra Thin Glass for improved durability.

The hinge of the Pixel Fold is designed to offer smooth motion and securely support different postures. The phone is powered by Google's Tensor G2 SoC with the Titan M2 security coprocessor, providing enhanced performance and security.

In terms of storage and memory, the Pixel Fold offers 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone boasts a versatile camera setup with three rear cameras. It includes a 48 MP main camera with OIS, a 10.8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 10.8 MP 5x optical zoom telephoto camera.

On the outer screen, there is a 9.5 MP fixed focus camera, while the inner screen houses an 8 MP snapper.

Other notable features of the Pixel Fold include a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, dual-SIM support, stereo speakers, and a 4,821 mAh battery. It comes with Android 13 pre-installed.

The Pixel Fold is currently not available for purchase in India.
