Odisha Television Limited (OTV) has unveiled Lisa, the state's first artificial intelligence (AI) news anchor, marking a significant milestone in regional television broadcasting.

The official introduction of Lisa took place during a ceremony in Bhubaneswar, where Jagi Mangat Panda, the managing director of OTV, highlighted the significance of this technological progression.

In her statement, she emphasised the need for television broadcasters to keep pace with the digital age, where people spend more time online. With the introduction of Lisa, OTV aims to stay aligned with viewers' changing preferences and deliver news with a fresh approach.

Panda further emphasised the value of AI in repetitive tasks and data analysis, enabling journalists to focus on finding specific angles and answers in news stories.

Lisa, with her AI capabilities, is poised to revolutionise television broadcasting by streamlining mundane tasks and providing accurate news efficiently.

As OTV's Digital Business Head, Litisha Mangat Panda, stated, Lisa is not only Odisha's but also India's first AI news anchor. Efforts are underway to enhance Lisa's proficiency in Odia to further resonate with the local audience.

The introduction of Lisa, Odisha's first AI news anchor, sets a new standard for regional television journalism. By leveraging AI and machine learning, Lisa is primed to redefine news delivery, making it more efficient and accurate.
