Despite the health and safety concerns around the new Covid-19 variant - Omicron, Team India is all set to tour South Africa. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed that the tour will have new dates and the team won't play T20 matches. The tour is likely to start with a Boxing Day Test match on 26th December and will only feature Tests and ODIs.

Shah confirmed that the 4-match T20 series will be played later. The decision comes from the BCCI Annual General Meeting which approved the tour after consultation with the Govt of India.

India currently is making rapid changes to its foreign travellers' policy coming from high-risk nations as South Africa remains the epicentre for the newest Covid virus strain.
