Two people died and 12 were wounded in Kabul on Friday after Taliban soldiers fired in the air in celebration of gaining ground in Panjshir Valley, the last remaining province resisting its rule.
Tolo TV reported that 17 bodies and 21 wounded people were transferred to the capital’s Emergency Hospital.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid criticised the celebratory firing and called the militants to stop the practice immediately.
While Taliban sources told news agency Reuters that they have seized the northern valley, resistance leaders have denied the claim and said that they have held their ground.

Taliban has declared amnesty for all those who worked against it with foreign forces and has called upon the rebel leaders in Panjshir to give up arms and negotiate a settlement.
According to Tolo news agency, former president Hamid Karzai has also suggested peace talks between the two groups.
