Former West Indies skipper Jason Holder will replace Obed McCoy, who injured himself during West Indies' World T20 match against England last week, informed the Windies Cricket Board on Thursday.

Holder whose entry in the World T20 has been approved by an ICC panel was one of the permitted travelling reserves in the UAE. He will now be available for selection for West Indies' upcoming match against Bangladesh on Friday.

The 29-year-old was asked to join the 15-member squad after McCoy was diagnosed with an injury in his right leg.

The defending champions have lost both their opening matches in the Super 12.
