Unidentified gunmen fired upon advocate Babar Qadri at his residence in Srinagar on Thursday evening, according to reports. Qadri was shot from a close range before they fled the spot, say the police. He was rushed to the Srinagar's SKIMS hospital, where doctors declared him ‘dead on arrival’. Former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, in a tweet, Omar wrote, the sense of tragedy is all the more because he warned of the threat.
