Sunil Arora to take over as new Chief Election Commissioner

Sunil Arora has been appointed as the new Chief Election Commissioner by President Ram Nath Kovind, according to reports. He will take over from OP Rawat on the 2nd of December. Arora takes charge in the middle of crucial assembly elections in 5 states. A 1980-batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, Arora has worked in several ministries such as finance, textiles and the Planning Commission.
