According to a new study published in the journal Current Biology, the behaviour of mosquitoes is evolving to bite more humans than animals. Scientists have found that the Aedes Aegypti species has evolved a taste for humans, and become the primary spreader of infectious diseases including dengue and yellow fever. The study indicates that a dry climate and urbanisation are influencing insects' behaviour to prefer humans! These factors could accelerate the trend of mosquitoes living in densely-populated urban areas being more attracted to biting people.
