India continued its steady trend of decline in Covid cases. The country registered over 73,000 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, according to the data released by the health ministry on Saturday morning. The total case count is now nearing 70 lakh, while 926 fresh fatalities have taken the death count to over 1 lakh and 7 thousand. The number of active cases stood at under 9 lakh on Saturday, while close to 60 lakh patients have so far recovered. As of October 9, the country has tested more than 8,5 crore samples for Covid-19. As many as 11.6 lakh samples were tested on Friday, the ICMR has informed.
