RCB after the win climbed to the 2nd spot in the IPL points table. They have now won 5 wins in 7 games.
Bangalore entered with a strong foot into the Lucknow innings as they never allowed LSG players to settle. A regular fall of wickets became Lucknow’s biggest nemesis. At first, Josh Hazlewood struck in the beginning as he removed Quinton de Kock and Manish Pandey in quick succession within the powerplay, he then came back to hunt down Ayush Badoni and Marcus Stoinis in the later overs. Apart from him, Harshal Patel got 2 wickets and Glenn Maxwell got 1 as Lucknow were forced to wrap their innings at 163/8. With 42 in 28 balls, Krunal Pandya was the highest scorer for Lucknow.
Despite losing regular wickets on the other end, skipper Faf du Plessis played a balanced inning and stayed throughout to take his team's total to 181. Lucknow began their exploit early with the ball as they got 3 crucial wickets in the powerplay. While Chameera removed Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat on back-to-back deliveries in the first over, Glenn Maxwell perished on Krunal Pandya's strike.
Lucknow Super Giants' KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bowl first against Faf du Plessis' Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Match 31st of the IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday.
