Jaipur, Jul 25 (PTI): Yash Dayal, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's pacer, is facing serious allegations following an FIR filed by Jaipur Police accusing him of raping a minor. The 27-year-old cricketer from Uttar Pradesh is already embroiled in another controversy where a woman from Ghaziabad has accused him of sexual exploitation, claiming he abused her after a five-year promise of marriage.
Anil Jaiman, SHO of Jaipur's Sanganer Sadar police station, confirmed that the FIR was registered on Wednesday, charging Dayal under the relevant sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The alleged victim stated that the first incident occurred in 2023 when she was 17, with a subsequent assault reportedly taking place in April this year at a hotel in Jaipur's Sitapura area. "She claimed that the cricketer offered her help and support with her career. He reached out to her in April during the IPL season and called her to the hotel, where the alleged assault happened again," explained Jaiman, noting that an investigation is underway.
Dayal has yet to make a public statement on either case. A medium pacer, he debuted for Uttar Pradesh in 2018, amassing 84 wickets in 27 first-class games and 66 dismissals in 71 T20 matches. His IPL journey began with the Gujarat Titans in 2022 before joining RCB, who acquired him for Rs five crore in the 2024 players' auction. He remained a crucial part of their trophy-winning squad under Rajat Patidar this season.
