Women's IPL: BCCI announces 5 franchises after combined bid valuation of ₹4669.99 CR

BCCI garnered whopping ₹4669.99 crores in the auction for 5 Women's IPL franchises.

Adani Group emerged as the highest bidder and grabbed the rights for the Ahmedabad team. Meanwhile, Reliance-owned Indiawin Sports Private Limited won the rights of the Mumbai team with a bid of ₹912.99 crores. 

With a bid price of ₹901 crores, Royal Challengers Bangalore will now have a women's team as well.

Delhi Capitals too won the rights for a women's team with a bid of ₹810 crores, while Capri Global Holdings will pay ₹757 crores for the Lucknow franchise.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also announced that Women's IPL will be called the Women's Premier League (WPL).
