Jaipur, Nov 7 (PTI): Vani Kapoor showcased her prowess by delivering an impressive performance in the 14th Leg of the Women's Pro Golf Tour, securing a thrilling victory over Jasmine Shekar during the decisive third round on Friday.

Kapoor's three consecutive birdies on the closing holes resulted in a 2-under 68 for the third consecutive day, culminating in a total score of 6-under 204.

Despite Jasmine Shekar's final birdie, she trailed Vani by one stroke, finishing with a 68 in the final round.

This triumph marks Vani's fifth victory of the season, further solidifying her lead at the summit of the Hero Order of Merit.

Sneha Singh concluded in third place with a score of 2-under 208, while Amandeep Drall secured the fourth spot at even par 210.

The final day saw Vani start with a narrow one-shot lead, which vanished immediately as Jasmine birdied the opening hole.

Despite a bogey by Jasmine on the second hole, Vani's back-to-back bogeys on the third and fourth, coupled with Jasmine's second bogey, kept them on level terms.

The intense competition continued with Vani's birdie on the sixth, granting her a one-shot advantage, only for Jasmine to equalize with a birdie on the ninth.

On the back nine, Jasmine gained an edge with a birdie on the 11th, as Vani maintained a steady run of pars from the seventh to the 15th.

With three holes remaining, Jasmine led by one until Vani made a decisive move, birdying each of the last three holes while Jasmine could only par the 16th and 17th and birdied the final hole.

Amateur Riya Jadon delivered the second-best performance of the final day, shooting a 67 to claim fifth place at 1-over 211.

Seher Atwal had an impressive run, firing a 4-under 66, moving into a tie for sixth at 2-over 212.

Smriti Bhargava finished eighth with a 69, while Khushi Khanijau, Jahanvi Bakshi, and Ridhima Dilawari, finishing with scores of 70, 73, and 75 respectively, tied for ninth at 4-over 214.

With this victory, Vani leads the Order of Merit after five wins in 11 starts, followed by Amandeep Drall in second, Jasmine Shekar in third, Sneha Singh in fourth, and Ridhima Dilawari in fifth.
