'We will send team only if...': Rajeev Shukla clears the air on India's Champions Trophy participation

In the recent turn of events regarding Team India's participation in the Champions Trophy 2024, which will be held early next year in Pakistan, the BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla has stated that then Men in Blue will only travel to Pakistan if they get consent from the Government of India.

Since 2008, the Indian cricket team has never toured Pakistan due to the tense relationship between both the countries die to terrorism.

While answering a question on Team India's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025, Rajeev Shukla said, "We will follow the Government of India's instructions regarding the Champion Trophy."

“We send our team only when the Government of India gives us permission. So, we will go according to the decision of the Indian government,” he added.

Rajeev Shukla also spoke about the recent threat by the IS regarding the upcoming T20 World Cup and stated that BCCI will take all the necessary steps for the safety of players at the marquee event.

Shukla also informed that the BCCI is in touch with the governments of the USA and West Indies and will also consult with the security agencies.
