Ireland all-rounder George Dockrell became the first player to play a game at T20 World Cup 2022 despite being identified as "potentially positive" for Covid-19.

Dockrell, who had mild symptoms, took the field against Sri Lanka on Sunday and scored a 16-ball-14. The tournament isn't being played inside a bio-bubble this time and a Covid-positive player can still play or train with his teammates. However, he is required to travel separately on match and training days.

Ireland will next take on Afghanistan in its second Super 12 match in Melbourne on October 28.
