Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal apologized to Harbhajan Singh for his disrespectful remarks towards the Sikh religion.
For the unversed, During a panel discussion after the India vs Pakistan match at the T20 World Cup, Kamran Akmal made a controversial racist remark about Arshdeep's religion.
His remarks didn't go well with Harbhajan Singh and the former India off-spinner lambasted Akmal. "You should know the history of sikhs before u open ur filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved ur mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock . Shame on you guys.. Have some Gratitude", Harbhajan Singh said in a social media post on Twitter.
Following Harbhajan Singh's outrage, Kamran Akmal issued an unconditional apology on the matter, "I deeply regret my recent comments and sincerely apologize to @harbhajan_singh and the Sikh community. My words were inappropriate and disrespectful. I have the utmost respect for Sikhs all over the world and never intended to hurt anyone. I am truly sorry, Akmal wrote on X, tagging the former India cricketer.
