New Delhi, Nov 13 (PTI) — In a significant development ahead of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans have traded West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford to Mumbai Indians for Rs 2.6 crore.

The IPL confirmed in a statement that, having been acquired by Gujarat Titans for the same fee of INR 2.6 crore, Rutherford will now transition to Mumbai Indians at his existing rate.

The 27-year-old cricketer has made notable contributions in the international arena, boasting a record-breaking 139-run partnership for the sixth wicket with teammate Andre Russell against Australia in Perth during a T20I match.

Rutherford's IPL journey has seen him participate in 23 matches. He began with Delhi Capitals in 2019, moved to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2022, and has previously been part of the Mumbai Indians squad in 2020 and the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024, although he did not make it into the playing XI during those particular seasons.
