Singapore, July 28 (PTI): Veteran Indian swimmer Sajan Prakash was unable to advance to the semifinals of the men's 200m freestyle event at the World Aquatics Championships held here on Monday. The 31-year-old, known for his butterfly stroke expertise, recorded a time of 1:51.57 seconds. He finished fourth in his heat and ranked 43rd overall. Only the top 16 swimmers qualified for the next round.

David Popovici of Romania was the fastest in the heats, posting an impressive 1:45.43 seconds. Italy's Carlos D'Ambrosio secured the last spot for the semifinals with a time of 1:46.67 seconds.
