London, August 13 (AP) Premier League teams are set to honor the late Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, with a moment of silence during the opening round of matches this weekend. The league has coordinated with Liverpool to determine the most fitting way to commemorate Jota, who tragically passed away in a car accident alongside his brother in Spain last July.

A moment of silence will be observed before kickoff in each match, and players from every team will don black armbands in tribute. Additionally, clubs will receive messaging and imagery to be displayed on big screens across the stadiums.

During Sunday's Community Shield match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium, tributes were also paid to the brothers. Wreaths were laid on the pitch, and a period of silence was held before the match started. Although a minority of Palace supporters disrupted the silence, there was an immediate reaction from both ends of the field and from fellow Palace fans who sought to maintain the tribute's respect.
