Houston (US), Sep 4 (PTI) — Golfer Pranavi Urs is set to spearhead the Indian contingent at the Houston Championship, marking the fourth event of this year's PIF Global Series, which kicks off this Friday. Having sat out numerous early-season tournaments due to a wrist injury, Pranavi is eager to reclaim her form and make her mark in the latter half of the season.

With Diksha Dagar opting out of the Golfcrest Country Club event, the Indian representation also includes promising rookie Avani Prashanth and seasoned golfer Tvesa Malik.

The prestigious tournament assembles 104 professionals who will engage in both a 36-hole Team competition and a 54-hole Individual stroke play showdown.

Pranavi, recognized for her previous successes on her home tour, is still in pursuit of her first victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET). In the team segment, she will join forces with Belgium’s Manon De Roey, Ecuador's Daniela Darquea, and German player Polly Mack.

Avani Prashanth's team comprises Germany's Laura Fuenfstueck, England's Rosie Davies, and France's Vanessa Bouvet. Meanwhile, Tvesa Malik will collaborate with Wales' Darcey Harry, Germany’s Olivia Cowan, and Italy's Virginia Elena Carta.

The competition features 26 teams with four professionals each. Team Captains have been selected based on the official Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as of August 25. Captains had the privilege of selecting one professional for their team, while the remaining two members were randomly assigned.
