The Grand Slam of etiquettes has a new rule. No champagne bottles will be popped during the players' serves.
A match umpire had to warn fans on Sunday during the third-round Wimbledon clash between Russians Mirra Andreeva and Anastasia Potapova after a spectator uncorked a bottle of champagne that popped in the middle of the match.
'Ladies and gentlemen, please, if you are opening a bottle of champagne, don't do it as the players are about to serve,' John Blom, the umpire, said on the microphone for the audience.
Potapova, who was about to serve, stopped to listen to the announcement and then acknowledged the umpire's warning with a smile.
