Two individuals were apprehended at Wimbledon on Wednesday after entering the court and causing disruption during a match by scattering orange confetti and puzzle pieces on the grass.

A woman and a man, both wearing T-shirts representing the protest group Just Stop Oil, managed to make their way onto the field of play at Court 18 before being escorted off by security personnel.

The incident occurred during a first-round match between 3-time Grand Slam semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria and Sho Shimabukuro of Japan. The disruption took place just as Dimitrov was preparing to serve in the second set.

Although the debris was later cleared from the court to allow the match to resume, play was halted by a rain delay.
