American swimmer Anita Alvarez had a moment of a scare during the World Swimming Championship in Budapest on Wednesday.

After the 25-year-old completed the women's solo free artistic swimming finals, she fainted and sank to the bottom of the pool. Immediately her coach, Andrea Fuentes jumped into the pool fully dressed to rescue her.

The swimmer who was unsconscious and not breathing, was quickly sent to Team USA's medical center in front of shocked fans.
