India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra shone at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on August 27 when he secured the gold medal with a throw of 88.17m in javelin throw.
Speaking after his historic win, Chopra expressed his joy and pride, 'It feels great for me and it is a proud moment for me and for my country (India). And, with my throws, I am not satisfied today (Sunday). But, with this gold medal, I am very happy. But I will throw further in the next competitions.'
He recalled his iconic Tokyo 2020 win, 'Yeah, like, Tokyo was also very special. But the world championships are also a very big competition. And winning gold with the crowd, it feels really great.'
