Former World Number 1 Andy Murray advanced to the second round of the Australian Open after he survived a five-set battle against 13th seed Matteo Berrettini at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
In a match that lasted close to 5 hours, Murray started well by winning the first two sets 6-3, 6-3.
However, Berrettini roared back into the game with a 6-4 win in the third set.

The Italian then held his nerves in the 4th set as well, winning it in a tie-breaker.
But in the final set, Murray first saved a match point and then edged the 2021 Wimbledon finalist in the tie-break to win the match 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-7(7), 7-6(10-6).
