Venus Williams shining bright at 43, claims first top 50 win in almost 4 years

After almost 30 years when Venus Williams won her first match ever on the WTA Tour, the American tennis star is still shining bright at 43.

The 7-time grand slam champion got her first top 50 win in 3 years and 8 months as she beat Camila Giorgi 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 in a round of 32 tie at the Birmingham Classic.

Ranked 697, Venus beat world number 36 in a gruelling match that lasted over 3 hours.

Interestingly, it was Venus' 817th match on the WTA Tour and Just her 2nd win since Wimbledon 2021.
