The world's oldest grand slam tournament Wimbledon celebrated 100 years of its Centre Court on Sunday.

Wimbledon marked the centenary event with a musical performance and a parade of former champions.

Eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer, who is not playing this year due to a knee injury, was also present at the event along with stalwart Sir Cliff Richard, US tennis legend Billie Jean King, Rod Laver and Venus Williams during the Centre Court celebrations in London.

While giving a speech at the event, 40-year-old Federer said that it is great to be here with all the other champions.

Wimbledon moved to its present site in 1922, the same year Centre Court was opened. It was built in just nine months to hold a capacity crowd of around 15,000.
