The former world number one Andy Murray has been given a wild card into the main draw of the Australian Open, which begins on January 16.
Murray, who is ranked 134th in the world following extended injury layoffs due to hip surgery, has reached the final at Melbourne Park five times, the most recent in 2016, but has never won.
Murray made a tearful retirement in 2019 before undergoing a second hip operation to extend his career.
The three-time grand slam champion Murray had accepted a wild-card entrance last year but did not participate after testing positive for Covid-19 just before boarding a charter flight to Melbourne.
