Manika Batra stormed into women's singles Table Tennis pre-quarterfinals after defeating Nabita Shrestha of Nepal 11-5, 11-4, 11-3, 11-2. She will take on Suthasini Sawettabut of Thailand next.

However, Sreeja Akula lost 4-0 against Songgyong Pyon of People's Republic of Korea and was knocked out from the women's singles round of 32.

The pair of Harmeet Desai and Sreeja Akula lost their Round of 16 bout against the Thailand pair of Phakpoom Sanguansin and Orawan Paranang 11-4, 11-6, 12-10.

Manika too had a disappointing outing in mixed doubles. After winning the first two games, she and her partner Sathiyan Gnanasekaran lost the next three games to miss out on a quarter-finals spot.

With that, India's challenge in TT mixed doubles came to an end.
