Christian Horner is under investigation by Formula One team Red Bull following allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour', the company revealed on Monday.

It is understood a complaint was made against the Team Principal, who has held the position since 2005, by another employee.

A spokesperson for Austrian company Red Bull said, "After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation."

"This process, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.

"The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time."

Horner strongly refutes the allegations:"I completely deny these claims", the 50-year-old said.
