Once deemed the constant threat for India, Hassan Sardar, Pakistan's legendary centre forward has put his weight behind Harmanpreet Singh-led side in the Hockey World Cup 2023.

World Cup champion and Olympic gold medallist Sardar in an interview with PTI stated that he's amazed by the maturity shown by the Indian team in recent years. And in his opinion, India could finish in the top four this time around.

Sardar, who mesmerised the Indians with 11 goals during the 1982 World Cup in Mumbai, said: "I had said before the Tokyo Olympics that this Indian team is capable of winning medals at the highest level. They won bronze but there is hardly any major difference in the top 4 teams in world hockey now."
