Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri finishes 2nd as Cameron Smith wins The Players Championship

Australia's Cameron Smith defeated Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri by 1 shot to claim the Players Championship on Monday in Florida. 

After a dramatic final round, the 28-year-old posted a 6 under par 66 for a total score of 13 under 275 that helped him get his 5th and biggest PGA Tour victory at TPC Sawgrass. Smith also got a $3.6 million reward, the biggest prize money in golf. 

Lahiri, finished 2nd with 69 and received a $2.1 million cheque. While the Indian golfer was the overnight leader, Smith surpassed him on Monday morning as he carded 10 birdies and 4 bogeys to finish on 13 under par.
