2 more players have withdrawn from the ongoing India Open due to another Covid-19 positive result, the Badminton World Federation informed on Saturday. While second-seeded Russian mixed doubles player Rodion Alimov has withdrawn from the event after testing positive for Covid-19, his partner Alina Davletova also had to withdraw after being identified as his close contact.

The pair was to play in the main draw, but now their opponents Yong Kai Terry Hee and Wei Han Tan have been given a walkover to the mix-doubles final which will be held on 16th January.

Earlier 7 Indian shuttles including Kidambi Srikanth had to pull out from India Open after they contracted Covid-19.
