Indian high jumper Tejaswin Shankar overcame a strong challenge from former world champion and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Donald Thomas of the Bahamas to win Gold at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston.
Shankar's jump of 2.26 metres saw him get the better of the 2010 CWG Gold medallist, who recorded a best of 2.23 metres.
24-year-old Shankar who won Bronze at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games cleared 2.14, 2.19, 2.23 and 2.26 metres on his first four attempts.
