Former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius gets parole, to be set free 10 years after murdering girlfriend

'Blade runner' Oscar Pistorius will be released before the end of his jail term a decade after he murdered his girlfriend. 

The former South African Paralympian was granted parole on November 24 and he will walk free on January 5, 2024. 

Pistorius was was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2016 after he shot Reeva Steenkamp multiple times through a bathroom door in 2013.
