Badminton: WATCH Satwiksairaj-Chirag win French Open men's doubles title, end a 39-year long wait

Star Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty added another jewel to their crown when they won the French Open 750 tournament on Sunday night.


Shuttlers Satwik & Chirag defeated Chinese Taipei's Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han in straight games 21-13, 21-19 in the men's doubles final.

After the win, the world number 8 pair became the second-ever Indian duo in 39 years to win French Open title. Partho Ganguly and Vikram Singh were the first to do it in 1983.

The Indian pair has been in superb form this year, which saw them win the Indian Open Super 500 title, Commonwealth Games gold, Thomas Cup crown and a bronze at the World Championships in August.
