Two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen's long winning streak came to an end as she signed off with a bronze medal after losing the semifinal bout against Raksat Chuthamat.

Competing in the women's 50kg category, Zareen lost a fiercely contested 50kg semifinal battle 2-3 to the Thai pugilist whom she had earlier defeated at the World Championship earlier this year.

After losing the first round on three cards, the Thai boxer cramped Zareen and resorted to clinching every time the Indian tried to mount an attack.

She returns home with not only a bronze but also an Olympic quota.
