Star Indian Boxer Nikhat Zareen started her Asian Games 2023 campaign with an impressive win over World Championship 2023 Silver medallist Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Tam on Sunday.
With a 5-0 win, she entered the pre-quarterfinals in the Women's 50 kg category, where she will face Chorong Bak of South Korea.
Nikhat, who is a 2-time World champion, was one of only four boxers to not get a first-round bye in the 50kg event despite being the reigning world champion.
