Asian Games 2023: Boxers Preeti Pawar, Lovlina Borgohain confirm podium places for India on Day 7

Indian boxers Preeti Pawar and Lovlina Borgohain won their respective quarterfinal bouts to qualify for the semis, ensuring two more medals for India.

Preeti Pawar defeated Kazakhstan's Zhaina Shekerbekova to enter the women's 54kg semifinal and also earned automatic qualification for 2024 Paris Olympics.

World Champion Lovlina Borgohain got the better of Suyeon Seong of South Korea in the women's 75kg category.

Lovlina now needs to win her next bout to book her place at the Olympics next year.

Both boxers will be aiming to go for gold in their respective categories as they move into the latter stages of the event.
